Teaching Assistant for Secondary – Gosport, Hampshire
Start Date: Immediate / After October Half Term | Contract Type: Full-Time, Permanent or Ad-Hoc Basis
Salary: £13.68 per hour

GSL Education are seeking dedicated Secondary Teaching Assistants to join mainstream schools in Gosport. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about education, as well as university students who want to gain professional experience in a school setting.
As a Teaching Assistant (TA) for Secondary, you will work closely with teaching staff to support pupils’ learning, help maintain a positive classroom environment, and ensure every student has the opportunity to achieve their potential. Both permanent and ad-hoc roles are available, offering flexibility and the chance to develop your career in education.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide one-to-one and small group support to pupils.
- Assist teachers in preparing and delivering lessons.
- Encourage pupil engagement, confidence, and progress.
- Support behaviour management and maintain a positive learning environment.
- Help pupils develop study skills and access the curriculum effectively.
- Adapt to different classroom settings and subjects as required.
Teaching Assistant for Secondary Qualifications:
- CACHE Level 2/3 or NVQ Level 2/3 in Teaching Assistant or similar.
- A degree in Education or a similar field.
- A genuine interest in supporting students’ learning and development.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work flexibly and adapt to different classrooms and pupil needs.
- Previous experience in schools, childcare, or youth work is desirable.
- Proactive, enthusiastic, and adaptable approach.
- Have an updated CV and an Enhanced DBS registered on the update service, or willingness to apply.
