Secondary LSA – Winchester, Hampshire
Start Date: Immediate / After October Half Term | Contract Type: Full-Time, Permanent or Ad-Hoc Basis
Salary: £13.68 per hour

GSL Education are seeking dedicated Secondary Learning Support Assistants (LSAs) to join mainstream schools in Winchester. This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about education, as well as university students who are keen to experience working in a professional school environment.
As a Secondary LSA, you will provide vital support within the classroom, assist pupils with their learning, and work closely with teachers to help maintain a positive and inclusive learning environment. With permanent and ad-hoc opportunities available, this role offers both flexibility and a pathway into a rewarding career in education.
Secondary LSA Responsibilities:
- Provide one-to-one and small group support to pupils in lessons.
- Assist teachers with preparing and delivering engaging learning activities.
- Encourage pupil participation, confidence, and progress across subjects.
- Support classroom management and ensure a focused learning environment.
- Help students access the curriculum effectively by building their study skills.
- Adapt confidently to different classroom settings and key stages.
Skills & Requirements:
- CACHE Level 2/3 or NVQ Level 2/3 in Teaching Assistant or similar.
- A degree in Education or a similar field.
- A genuine interest in education and supporting young learners.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Previous experience in education, childcare, or youth work is desirable.
- A flexible, proactive, and enthusiastic attitude.
- Have an updated CV and an Enhanced DBS registered on the update service, or willingness to apply.
