Support Pupils in Sheffield as a PMLD Teaching Assistant – Make a Meaningful Difference
Location: Sheffield
Salary: £86 - £100 per day (Depending on Experience)

GSL Education are seeking a compassionate and committed PMLD (Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties) Teaching Assistant to join a nurturing and inclusive school in Sheffield. About the Role:
As a PMLD Teaching Assistant (TA), you will work closely with class teachers, SEN professionals, and therapists to support pupils with profound and multiple learning difficulties. Your role will involve providing personal care, facilitating communication, and ensuring pupils are engaged in meaningful learning experiences tailored to their individual needs.
Key Responsibilities of PMLD Teaching Assistant:
- Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with PMLD
- Assist with personal care, feeding, and mobility needs
- Use specialist equipment and communication aids (e.g., PECS, Makaton)
- Create a safe, stimulating, and inclusive learning environment
- Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and healthcare professionals
- Monitor and report on pupil progress and wellbeing
Requirements for PMLD Teaching Assistant:
- Experience working with children or young people with PMLD or complex needs
- Knowledge of SEN strategies and communication tools (e.g., sensory integration, AAC)
- Patience, empathy, and a strong commitment to inclusive education
- Willingness to assist with personal care and physical support
