English Teacher (Supply)

Contract: Supply / Flexible (Full-time or Part-time)

GSL Education are looking for a passionate and adaptable English Teacher to work on supply in secondary schools across York. This is an excellent opportunity for qualified teachers seeking flexibility, variety, and the chance to inspire students in English Language and Literature.
Teacher of English Roles and Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging and well-structured English lessons to KS3 and KS4 pupils, following school curriculum guidelines.
- Adapt teaching to meet the needs of different learners, including those with additional support requirements.
- Create a positive and stimulating classroom environment that promotes progress, confidence, and achievement.
- Manage behaviour effectively, using strategies that encourage respect and focus.
- Contribute to the wider life of the school when required, maintaining high professional standards.
The Ideal English Teacher Will Have:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- Experience teaching English at secondary level (KS3/KS4); KS5 experience desirable but not essential.
- Strong subject knowledge and the ability to deliver lessons that engage and challenge students.
- Excellent classroom management skills.
- A genuine passion for teaching and inspiring young people.
- An up-to-date Enhanced DBS (or willingness to apply).
