Job Title: Autism Support Worker
Location: Christchurch
Salary: £13.68 - £16.12 per hour (depending on experience)
Contract Type: Full-Time / Part-Time
Start Date: Immediate

Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of children and young people with autism? GSL Education are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Autism Support Worker to join a supportive school environment in Christchurch, starting immediately.

About the Role:

As an Autism Support Worker, you will provide tailored support to students with autism, helping them to access the curriculum, develop social skills, and thrive in a structured and nurturing setting. This is a rewarding opportunity to contribute to the personal and academic growth of young learners.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support students with autism in both classroom and one-to-one settings.
  • Assist teachers in adapting learning materials and activities to meet individual needs.
  • Promote positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing.
  • Foster a safe, inclusive, and encouraging learning environment.
  • Monitor and report on student progress and challenges to teaching staff.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Experience working with children or young people with autism or additional needs is highly desirable.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A calm, patient, and empathetic approach to support.
  • Relevant qualifications or training in SEN or autism support are advantageous but not essential.

To work with GSL Education as an Autism Support Worker, you should:

  • Have the right to work in the UK.
  • Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last 2 years.
  • Have a DBS registered to the update service or be happy to apply for one with GSL Education.
