Job Title: SEN Teacher
Location: Poole
Salary: £31,650 - £49,084 Annually (depending on experience)
Contract Type: Full-time / Part-time
Start Date: January 2026 / Immediate

Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of students with special educational needs (SEN)? An exciting and rewarding opportunity awaits you in Poole! GSL Education are seeking a dedicated and empathetic SEN Teacher to join a supportive local school, either from January 2026 or immediately.

About the Role:
As a SEN Teacher, you will play a vital role in supporting students with diverse learning needs, helping them achieve their full potential in a nurturing and inclusive environment. You will work closely with teaching assistants, other teachers, and parents to deliver tailored learning experiences that inspire and empower every student.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons for students with SEN.
  • Develop and implement individual education plans (IEPs) to support student progress.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and safe classroom environment.
  • Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, therapists, and external agencies.
  • Monitor, assess, and record student progress, adapting strategies as needed.
  • Communicate effectively with parents and carers to ensure consistent support.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Experience working with children or young people with SEN is highly desirable.
  • Strong communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills.
  • A patient, creative, and resilient approach to teaching.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.

To work with GSL Education as a SEN Teacher, you should:

  • Have the right to work in the UK.
  • Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last 2 years.
  • Have a DBS registered to the update service or be willing to apply for one with GSL Education.
