SEMH Teacher
Location: Sheffield
Salary: £150 – £230 per day (Depending on Experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Day-to-day / Long Term, Full-time / Part-time

GSL Education are seeking dedicated and resilient SEMH Teachers to work in schools across Sheffield.
About the Role:
As an SEMH Teacher, you will create inclusive and supportive learning environments where pupils feel safe, valued, and motivated. You will plan and deliver lessons that not only meet the academic curriculum but also focus on building social and emotional skills, resilience, and confidence in learners.
Your Responsibilities as a Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) Teacher:
- Deliver high-quality teaching tailored to the needs of pupils with SEMH requirements.
- Plan engaging lessons that support both academic progress and emotional development.
- Work closely with teaching assistants and pastoral staff to create individual learning strategies.
- Build positive relationships to support behaviour management and promote a positive learning atmosphere.
- Track and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback.
- Contribute to the wider school community, ensuring pupils have the best possible learning experience.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), PGCE or equivalent teaching qualification.
- Previous teaching experience, ideally with SEMH or challenging behaviours.
- Strong classroom and behaviour management skills.
- Empathy, resilience, and a patient approach to supporting young people.
- A clear understanding of safeguarding and child protection practices.
- Have an updated CV and an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply via GSL Education.
