SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Doncaster
Salary: £86 – £100 per day (Depending on Experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Day-to-day / Long Term, Full-time / Part-time

GSL Education are looking for dedicated and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistants (SEN Tas) to join schools across Doncaster.

About the Role:

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work alongside class teachers to provide tailored support to pupils with SEN. You will assist in delivering engaging lessons, support learning on a 1:1 and small group basis and help create a nurturing classroom where every child can achieve their best.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with SEN.
  • Assist teachers in delivering lessons and activities adapted to pupils’ needs.
  • Support children’s academic, social, and emotional development.
  • Promote positive behaviour and encourage independence.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, staff, and parents.
  • Contribute to maintaining a safe, inclusive, and structured classroom environment.

SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA) Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with children, ideally those with SEN, is desirable.
  • CACHE Level 2/3, NVQ Level 2/3 in Childcare or Teaching Assistance, or equivalent qualifications preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to adapt to different learning needs and provide individualised support.
  • A solid understanding of safeguarding and child protection.
  • Have an updated CV and an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply via GSL Education.
