SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Sheffield
Salary: £86 – £100 per day (Depending on Experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Day-to-day / Long Term, Full-time / Part-time

GSL Education are seeking committed and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistants to join schools across Sheffield.
As an SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA), you will work closely with teachers to support children with a range of additional needs. You will provide 1:1 support, assist small groups, and help create an inclusive and nurturing classroom environment where every pupil can thrive.
Responsibilities of an SEN Teaching Assistant:
- Provide 1:1 and group support to pupils with SEN across EYFS, KS1, and KS2.
- Assist teachers in planning and delivering lessons tailored to pupils’ individual needs.
- Support the social, emotional, and academic development of children.
- Help manage classroom behaviour in a positive and supportive way.
- Foster strong relationships with pupils, staff, and parents.
- Contribute to maintaining a safe, inclusive, and structured learning environment.
SEN TA Requirements:
- Previous experience working with children, ideally those with SEN, is desirable.
- CACHE Level 2/3, NVQ Level 2/3 in Childcare or Teaching Assistance, or equivalent qualifications preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to adapt to different learning needs and provide individualised support.
- A good understanding of safeguarding and child protection.
- Have an updated CV and an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply via GSL Education.
