Job Title: SEMH Teaching Assistant (TA)
Location: Rotherham (S60)
Pay Rate: £95 – £120 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Day-to-day / Long-term | Full-time / Part-time

GSL Education are currently seeking an enthusiastic SEMH TA to join a supportive school in Rotherham (S60). This role provides the opportunity to support pupils with social, emotional, and mental health needs, helping them thrive academically and personally in a safe and inclusive learning environment.

As an SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Support pupils with social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs during lessons and interventions.
  • Work 1:1 or in small groups to provide tailored support.
  • Encourage positive behaviour, engagement, and emotional regulation.
  • Assist class teachers with lesson delivery and classroom management.
  • Help maintain a safe, nurturing, and inclusive environment.
  • Monitor and record pupil progress to inform teaching strategies.

Requirements for SEMH Teaching Assistant:

  • Experience supporting children with SEMH or behavioural needs in a school setting is desirable.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for helping young learners.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.
  • An enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
  • A full CV covering the last 10 years, with explanations for any gaps.
