Autism Support Worker
Location: Worthing
Salary: £85 – £95 per day (Depending on Experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Day-to-day / Long Term, Full-time / Part-time

GSL Education are seeking dedicated and compassionate Autism Support Workers to join schools across Worthing.
Role Overview:
As an Autism Support Worker, you will work closely with teachers and pupils to provide tailored support for children with autism. You will assist with classroom activities, support individuals and small groups, and help create a structured, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment that meets the needs of all students.
Main Responsibilities of an Autism Support Worker:
- Assist teachers in planning and delivering lessons adapted for pupils with autism.
- Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils, helping them achieve their full potential.
- Support social, emotional, and academic development across EYFS, KS1, and KS2.
- Foster positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents.
- Encourage independence, confidence, and a love for learning.
- Help maintain a safe, structured, and inclusive classroom environment.
Requirements:
- Experience working with children, ideally with autism or additional needs.
- CACHE Level 2/3, NVQ Level 2/3 in Childcare, Teaching Assistance, or relevant qualification preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to adapt to different learning needs and behaviours.
- A clear understanding of safeguarding and child protection.
- Have an updated CV and an Enhanced DBS registered on the update service or willingness to apply via GSL Education
