Job Title: Nursery / Early Years Teaching Assistant – Level 2 or Level 3 Qualified
Location: Sheffield S5 (and surrounding areas)
Salary: £500 – £600 per week (depending on experience and qualifications)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Day-to-day / Long-term, Part-time / Full-time

GSL Education are working closely with primary schools across Sheffield to recruit qualified Nursery and Early Years Teaching Assistants. These roles are ideal for individuals with a Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant / Early Years qualification, who are passionate about supporting children at the very start of their learning journey.

Key Responsibilities as an Early Years TA:
- Support the class teacher with planning and delivering engaging, play-based learning activities.
- Provide 1:1 and small group support to children, helping to develop their language, social, and motor skills.
- Create a warm, safe, and inclusive environment where every child can thrive.
- Encourage curiosity, creativity, and independence in line with the EYFS framework.
- Safeguard and supervise children, both in the classroom and during playtimes.
- Assist with preparing learning resources and setting up engaging activities.
- Work closely with teachers and other staff to ensure smooth day-to-day running of the nursery/early years classroom.
Requirements of the Nursery / Early Years TA:
- Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant / Early Years qualification (essential).
- Previous experience in a nursery or early years classroom setting
- A patient, caring, and proactive approach to supporting young children.
- Excellent communication skills to engage with children, staff, and parents.
- A genuine passion for helping children develop the foundations for a lifelong love of learning.
- An enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or willingness to apply for one).
