Teaching Assistant – mainstream secondary – Bournemouth, Dorset
Start Date: Immediate / January 2026 | Contract Type: Full-Time, Ad-Hoc Basis
Salary: £13.68 per hour

As a Teaching Assistant (TA), you will provide vital classroom support to both teachers and pupils, helping to create a positive and inclusive atmosphere for learning. You will assist with lessons, encourage student participation, and ensure all learners feel supported in achieving their potential.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one and group support to pupils across various subjects.
  • Assist teachers in delivering engaging lessons and maintaining classroom routines.
  • Motivate and guide students to stay on task and complete their work.
  • Help foster a positive learning environment that promotes progress and achievement.
  • Adapt to different classroom settings and support pupils with a proactive approach.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in working with children as a Teaching assistant or similar or anyone willing to work is desirable.
  • Ideal for university students, or those seeking flexible work in education.
  • A genuine interest in education and supporting young people.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with teachers and students.
  • A proactive, flexible, and enthusiastic attitude.
  • Enhanced DBS registered on the update service, or willingness to apply via GSL Education.
