Maths Teacher – mainstream secondary – Portsmouth, Hampshire
Start Date: Immediate / January 2026 | Contract Type: Full-Time
Salary: £30,000 – £50,000 per annum (Depending on Experience)

GSL Education are seeking a dedicated Maths Teacher to join a thriving mainstream secondary school in Portsmouth. This full-time role is available for an immediate start or from January 2026.

In this role, you will deliver engaging and innovative Maths lessons that motivate students to achieve their best. Whether you are an Early Career Teacher or an experienced practitioner, you will be supported in developing your skills and making a lasting impact on pupils’ learning journeys.

Key Responsibilities of a Maths Teacher:

  • Plan and deliver effective Maths lessons in line with the secondary curriculum
  • Teach across the Key Stages, ensuring all learners are supported and challenged
  • Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback
  • Create a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere
  • Differentiate learning materials to meet the needs of individual pupils
  • Collaborate with colleagues within the department and across the school
  • Contribute to the wider life of the school, including extra-curricular opportunities

Requirements:

  • QTS (Qualified Teacher Status), ECTs, or equivalent overseas teaching qualifications
  • Strong subject knowledge and understanding of the secondary Maths curriculum
  • Ability to inspire, engage, and motivate students of all abilities
  • Excellent classroom management and organisational skills
  • A collaborative and reflective approach to teaching
  • Enhanced DBS registered on the update service, or willingness to apply via GSL Education
