Humanities Teacher

Location: Andover

Salary Scale:  £31,650 to £49,084 annually

Start Date: ASAP

Humanities Teacher role:  

  • Plan and deliver Humanities lessons in accordance with the national curriculum.
  • Demonstrate a strong desire to work within a SEN setting.
  • Be approachable, flexible, and adaptable, with a focus on making a positive impact on students' lives.
  • Provide support to each student with social, emotional, and behavioural needs in an educational environment.
  • Utilise effective communication and relationship-building skills to foster a supportive learning environment.
  • Show passion for delivering high-quality education, care, and support to young people.
  • When necessary, physically intervene using Team Teach techniques after de-escalation strategies have been unsuccessful (full training provided).
  • Build strong team commitment with colleagues and engage pupils to motivate and inspire them in the classroom.
  • Acquire appropriate books, teaching aids, and resources as needed

Requirements for Humanities Teacher role:  

  • Must be based in the UK and not require sponsorship.
  • Holds QTS or equivalent is essential.
  • Exhibits proactive, energetic, compassionate, flexible and adaptable qualities
  • Provides a verifiable work historyTop of Form
  • Demonstrated teaching experience.
  • Strong desire to work in a SEN setting.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and establish strong relationships.
  • Possession of a full UK driving license is desirable.

  • Have the right to work in the UK. 
  • Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last 2 years. 
  • Have a DBS registered to the update service or be happy to apply for one with GSL Education
