We’re recruiting SEMH Learning Support Assistants in Bures St. Mary to support young people with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health needs in a welcoming school.
£90–£110 per day | Bures St. Mary | Immediate start | Full-time
Main Purpose of the SEMH Learning Support Assistant Role
- Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with SEMH needs
- Help students regulate emotions and behaviour to access learning effectively
- Assist teachers with lesson delivery, ensuring pupils remain engaged and included
- Work alongside pastoral and SEN teams to implement personalised support plans
- Promote resilience, independence, and confidence in pupils
Ideal Candidate Skills & Qualities
- Previous experience working as a SEMH Learning Support Assistant or in a similar school or youth work setting
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build positive relationships with pupils
- Calm, resilient, and empathetic approach to supporting challenging behaviour
- Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply through GSL Education)
