SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Scarborough, North Yorkshire
Start Date: ASAP
Salary: £85 - £110 per day
GSL Education are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate Male SEN Teaching Assistant to work at our Client Secondary school for young people with additional needs located in Scarborough, North Yorkshire, starting as soon as possible.

SEN Teaching Assistant Responsibilities:
- Provide tailored 1:1 and small group support for students with special educational needs.
- Track and record student progress, offering feedback to the teaching team.
- Contribute to lesson delivery by adapting activities to ensure learning is inclusive and engaging.
- Apply strategies that promote students’ academic progress as well as their social and emotional growth.
- Support emotional regulation techniques and help to manage and de-escalate challenging behaviours.
SEN Teaching Assistant Requirements:
- Must have the legal right to work in the UK.
- A strong commitment to supporting children and young people with SEN.
- Previous experience working with children or young people in SEMH, behavioural support, or complex needs environments.
- Have an enhanced Child Workforce DBS registered on the update service, or willingness to apply for one via GSL Education.
- Relevant qualifications (such as CACHE or Level 2/3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning) are beneficial but not essential.
