GSL Education is seeking a resilient, proactive, and compassionate Special Needs Teaching Assistant to join their client school based in Bromley.

The Role:


Provide one-to-one and small group support to pupils with SEMH and associated needs

Build consistent, trusting relationships with students who may display challenging behaviour

Support teaching staff in delivering personalised and therapeutic learning plans

Help manage behaviour calmly and constructively, using de-escalation and positive reinforcement strategies

Encourage pupils to develop self-confidence, independence, and positive coping mechanisms

Contribute to a safe, structured, and emotionally supportive school environment

The idea Special Needs Teaching Assistant will have:


Experience supporting children or young people with SEMH, autism, ADHD, or behavioural difficulties

A calm, non-judgmental approach and the emotional resilience to work with pupils facing complex challenges

Excellent communication and teamwork skills

The ability to model appropriate behaviour and set clear boundaries

A commitment to inclusion, equality, and trauma-informed practice

Qualifications such as Team Teach, MAPA, or a psychology/education-related degree (desirable but not essential)
