Teaching Assistant

Location: Scarborough, North Yorkshire

Salary: £85 - £110 per day

Start Date: ASAP

GSL Education are seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join our Client Secondary school in Scarborough, North Yorkshire, starting as soon as possible.

Teaching Assistants Responsibilities:

  • Support students, including those with special educational needs.
  • Assist class teachers in delivering lessons and managing classroom behaviour.
  • Provide guidance to children with challenging behaviour, learning difficulties, or emotional and behavioural needs.
  • Contribute to the preparation of learning materials and the running of classroom activities, gaining hands-on experience under supervision.
  • Promoting a safe, positive, and nurturing learning environment.
  • Offer additional assistance to the teacher during classroom activities.

Teaching Assistants Requirements:

  • Must hold the Right to Work in the UK.
  • Previous experience supporting children or young people with SEMH, behavioural challenges, or complex needs.
  • Training in behaviour management and de-escalation strategies is desirable.
  • Strong teamwork, communication, and classroom management skills.
  • Hold a Child only DBS registered to the update service or be willing to apply for one through GSL Education.
