Pastoral Support Assistant
Location: Hackney
Salary: £23,860 - £28,733 per annum
Start Date: ASAP
Contract: Short Term Cover
Working Hours: 36.5 hours per week, with working hours between 8:00am and 16:30pm

GSL Education’s London Branch is looking for a dedicated Pastoral Support Assistant to join a vibrant coeducational secondary school in Hackney. This full-time role requires 36.5 hours per week, with working hours between 8:00am and 16:30pm. As a Pastoral Support Assistant, you will play an essential part in creating a safe, nurturing, and encouraging school environment where every student can succeed.
Responsibilities
As a Pastoral Support Assistant, you will:
- Support students with their personal, social, and emotional development.
- Manage student behaviour in line with school policies.
- Build positive relationships with students to help them engage in school life.
- Provide guidance and support to students in dealing with everyday challenges.
- Work closely with teachers and senior staff to promote the Academy’s ethos.
- Maintain effective administration systems both manual and electronic.
Requirements
To be successful as a Pastoral Support Assistant, you should have:

Previous experience working with young people in an educational or similar setting.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

A calm, approachable, and supportive manner.

The ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.

A strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection.
