SEN Teacher
Location: Sheffield (S17)
Salary: £150 – £250 per day (Depending on Experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Day-to-day / Long Term, Full-time / Part-time

Are you a dedicated teacher with a passion for supporting students with Special Educational Needs (SEN)?

GSL Education are seeking a compassionate and skilled SEN Teacher to join schools across Sheffield.

As an SEN Teacher, you will deliver tailored lessons to meet the diverse needs of learners with a range of additional requirements. You will work collaboratively with teaching assistants, parents, and external professionals to ensure each child receives the right support to thrive in their education.

SEN Teacher Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver differentiated lessons to support pupils with SEN.
  • Provide targeted support in line with pupils’ individual education plans (IEPs).
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and safe learning environment.
  • Support pupils both academically and socially to encourage independence.
  • Collaborate effectively with teaching assistants, parents, and specialists.
  • Assess and monitor pupil progress, adapting teaching strategies where needed.

Requirements for an SEN Teacher:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), PGCE, or equivalent qualification.
  • Experience teaching students with SEN needs is essential.
  • Strong behaviour and classroom management skills.
  • Patience, adaptability, and a nurturing approach.
  • A strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection.
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply via GSL Education.
