SEMH Teacher
Location: Sheffield (S17)
Salary: £150 – £250 per day (Depending on Experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Day-to-day / Long Term, Full-time / Part-time

Are you an experienced teacher passionate about supporting young people with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs?

GSL Education are looking for a dedicated and compassionate SEMH Teacher to join schools across Sheffield.

About the Role:

As an SEMH Teacher, you will deliver engaging and differentiated lessons that meet the individual needs of your pupils. You will work closely with support staff to create a positive learning environment, focusing on both academic progress and the development of social and emotional skills.

Main Responsibilities of a SEMH Teacher:

  • Plan and deliver high-quality lessons tailored to SEMH learners.
  • Support pupils’ individual learning and behavioural needs.
  • Foster resilience, confidence, and positive attitudes towards learning.
  • Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, parents, and external professionals.
  • Monitor and assess progress, providing constructive feedback.
  • Create a safe, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment.

Skills & Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), PGCE, or equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Experience teaching students with SEMH needs is essential.
  • Strong classroom and behaviour management skills.
  • A compassionate, patient, and adaptable approach.
  • A clear understanding of safeguarding and child protection.
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply via GSL Education.
