Teaching Assistant
Location: York, North Yorkshire
Contract: Full-time / Term-time only
Start Date: Immediate Start Date
Salary: £23124 – £27258 per annum*

GSL Education is working with a secondary school in York to appoint a full-time Teaching Assistant. We are seeking a committed and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join the school’s supportive and inclusive team. Teaching Assistant Responsibilities:

  • Provide classroom support to teachers, ensuring all pupils are engaged and able to access learning.
  • Deliver targeted 1:1 and small group interventions to support progress, particularly for pupils with additional needs.
  • Foster positive relationships with students, promoting confidence, resilience, and independence.
  • Assist in creating a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment.
  • Contribute to the wider life of the academy, upholding its values and ethos.

As the successful Teaching Assistant, you should have:

  • A passion for working with young people and helping them reach their potential.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Experience of supporting pupils with SEND is desirable but not essential, as training will be provided.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all students.
