Salary: £86 – £100 per day (depending on experience)

A welcoming and supportive school in Sheffield is looking for a compassionate PMLD (Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties) Teaching Assistant to join their dedicated team. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with pupils who have profound and multiple learning difficulties, supporting their development in both academic and personal areas.
As a PMLD Teaching Assistant, your responsibilities will include:
- Provide one-to-one and small group support to pupils with PMLD.
- Assist with personal care, feeding, and mobility needs where required.
- Adapt learning materials to ensure accessibility for individual pupils.
- Promote communication, social interaction, and independence in daily activities.
- Support teachers and specialist staff in delivering tailored learning programmes.
- Maintain a safe, nurturing, and inclusive environment for all learners.
To be a PMLD Teaching Assistant, you will require:
- Previous experience supporting children or young people with complex needs is desirable.
- Understanding of PMLD and a willingness to provide personal care and manual handling support.
- Strong communication, teamwork, and organisational skills.
- A patient, resilient, and empathetic approach to supporting pupils.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting children’s welfare.
- Have an enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service or be willing to apply for one.
- Provide a full, up-to-date CV with explanations for any employment gaps over the past 10 years.
