Salary Scale: £82.80 to £100 per day

A special school in Dibden Purlieu are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Behaviour Support Assistant with a real passion for working with children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) and learning difficulties (ASD, ADHD, SEMH needs.


The school promotes the significance of valuing every child as an individual and celebrating all achievements and efforts made in curricular and extra-curricular activities. The school has a real community feel, with positive relationships and good communication amongst staff and parents being imperative as a whole school view.

Behaviour Support Assistant- Full Time - Temp to Perm - ASAP Start - Dibden Purlieu

Responsibilities of a Behaviour Support Assistant:

  • Working with children in the classroom setting
  • Managing challenging behaviour
  • Working with students one-to-one
  • Acting as a positive role model to students
  • Taking an interest in and supporting the well-being of students

Requirements for Behaviour Support Assistant role:

  • Has experience working with young people, this could be as a Sports Coach, Dance Leader, Scout Leader or something similar
  •  Has a positive attitude
  • Can engage children in and out of the classroom
  •  Feels confident managing challenging behaviour
  •  Experience working with children with special needs, particularly those with autism or social and emotional needs.
  • Knowledge of and experience with behaviour management strategies.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development in SEN practices and strategies.

  • Have the right to work in the UK. 
  • Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last 2 years. 
  • Have a DBS registered to the update service or be happy to apply for one with GSL Education.
