Science Technician – Secondary School
Location: Brentwood, Essex
Pay: £100 – £150 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: November 

 

A thriving secondary school in Brentwood is seeking a reliable and enthusiastic Science Technician to join their supportive Science department. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a passion for science and a practical, hands-on approach to play a key role in supporting teaching and learning.

 

The Role:

  • Prepare, set up, and maintain equipment and resources for practical science lessons.

  • Support teachers and students during experiments to ensure safe and effective learning.

  • Maintain stock levels, order resources, and ensure laboratories are kept organised.

  • Follow strict health and safety procedures, including handling chemicals and equipment safely.

  • Assist with demonstrations, projects, and extracurricular science activities where required.

 

What We’re Looking For:

  • Previous experience as a Science Technician (or in a lab-based role) is desirable.

  • Strong knowledge of science equipment and health & safety in a school or lab environment.

  • Organised, proactive, and able to work independently as well as part of a team.

  • A genuine interest in supporting young people and fostering a love of science.
