Job Title: Behaviour Support Worker
Location: Dorchester
Pay Rate: £13.68 - £16.12 per hour (Depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Full Time/Part Time

A welcoming school in Dorchester is looking for a dedicated Behaviour Support Worker to provide tailored support to students with behavioural, emotional, and social needs. This rewarding role focuses on helping pupils overcome challenges, build confidence, and engage fully in their learning journey.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support students in managing emotions and behaviours through structured routines.
  • Provide tailored assistance in one-on-one and small group settings.
  • Promote independence, safety, and mutual respect in all interactions.
  • Collaborate with teachers and support staff to implement individual support plans.
  • Observe and document student behaviour, engagement, and wellbeing.

Requirements

  • Experience working with young people, ideally in a SEN or vocational setting.
  • A calm, patient, and empathetic approach.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Understanding of behaviour management strategies.
  • A valid driving license and willingness to drive is essential for this role.

To work with GSL Education as a Behaviour Support Worker, you should:

  • Have the right to work in the UK.
  • Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last 2 years.
  • Have a DBS registered to the update service or be happy to apply for one with GSL Education.
