A supportive and inclusive school in Weymouth is seeking a dedicated SEN Support Worker to join their team. This role offers the opportunity to provide tailored support, helping students overcome barriers to learning and thrive both academically and personally.

Key Responsibilities of the SEN Support Worker:

  • Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with SEN needs.
  • Assist with adapting learning activities and resources to meet individual requirements.
  • Encourage independence, self-confidence, and positive social interactions.
  • Support behaviour management strategies in a calm and constructive way.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCO, and parents/carers to monitor progress and share feedback.

Ideal Candidate Requirements of the SEN Support Worker:

  • Previous experience working with children or young people with SEN is desirable.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Patience, resilience, and a nurturing approach.
  • Ability to adapt to different situations and respond to individual needs.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
  • Have an updated CV (covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one).
