Location: Lancing
Salary: £85 - £95 per day (depending on experience)
Contract Type: Day-to-day / Long-term, Part-time / Full-time

A rewarding opportunity awaits you in Lancing, where GSL Education are seeking a dedicated and empathetic individual to join a local school as a SEMH Teaching Assistant (TA), working with Primary and Secondary age students.
About the Role:
As a SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in helping students overcome emotional and behavioural challenges, enabling them to thrive both academically and personally. This role offers a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact across a range of age groups.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide tailored one-on-one and small group support to students with SEMH needs
- Support students in developing emotional resilience and positive coping strategies
- Encourage engagement in classroom activities and social development
- Collaborate with teachers, pastoral staff, and external professionals to implement personalised support plans
- Create a safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment
Requirements:
- Previous experience supporting children or young people with SEMH needs is highly desirable
- A calm, patient, and empathetic approach
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Relevant training or qualifications in SEMH support are advantageous
To work with GSL Education as a SEMH Teaching Assistant, you should:
- Have the right to work in the UK
- Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last 2 years
- Have a DBS registered to the update service or be willing to apply for one with GSL Education
