Salary: £13.68 - £16.12 per hour (depending on experience)
Contract Type: Full-time / Permanent

Are you passionate about supporting children with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs? GSL Education are seeking a compassionate and committed individual to join a local school in Bovington as a SEMH Teaching Assistant (TA), starting immediately.

About the Role
As a SEMH Teaching Assistant (SEMH TA), you’ll play a key role in helping students thrive in their learning environment. You’ll work closely with teachers and support staff to provide tailored assistance and promote emotional wellbeing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support students in managing emotions and behaviours through structured routines.
  • Provide one-on-one and small group support tailored to individual needs.
  • Promote resilience, safety, and mutual respect in all interactions.
  • Collaborate with teachers and SENCOs to implement effective support plans.

Requirements

  • Experience working with children, ideally in a SEN or SEMH setting is desirable.
  • A calm, patient, and empathetic approach.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Understanding of behaviour management strategies.

To work with GSL Education as a SEMH Teaching Assistant, you should:

  • Have the right to work in the UK.
  • Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last 2 years.
  • Have a DBS registered to the update service or be happy to apply for one with GSL Education.
