Job description
We are seeking a compassionate, patient, and enthusiastic SEN Learning Support Assistant to join our dedicated team in a friendly Maldon primary school. This is an exciting opportunity to support children with a range of special educational needs (SEN), helping them to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally in a nurturing school environment.
Key Responsibilities

Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with a range of SEN, including autism, ADHD, speech and language needs, and social/emotional challenges.

Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to adapt learning activities and ensure inclusion in the classroom.

Support the development of social and emotional skills through positive relationships and tailored interventions.

Assist with the preparation of learning materials and classroom resources.

Help to create a safe, supportive, and engaging learning environment.

Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to teaching staff and parents/carers where appropriate.

Contribute to the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).
Person Specification
-
Experience working with children in an educational setting, ideally supporting SEN.

Knowledge of strategies to support children with additional needs.

A caring, patient, and resilient nature.

Ability to work as part of a team, as well as use initiative.

Strong communication skills with pupils, staff, and parents.

A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
