Job Title: Teaching Assistant
Location: Barnsley (and surrounding regions)
Salary: £500 – £600 per week (Depending on experience and qualifications)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Day-to-day/Long-term, Part-time/Full-time

GSL Education are working closely with several academies across Barnsley (and surrounding regions) to provide help with staffing for ambitious and dedicated teaching assistants.
We can accommodate either full or part time roles, so if you are looking for flexibility with consistency – this is the position for you!
The roles available can be within Primary or Secondary academies so you have the option to work from EYFS up to sixth form, depending on your preferences.
Key Responsibilities as a Teaching Assistant:
- Support teachers in planning and delivering dynamic, engaging lessons.
- Provide individual and small group support to students who need extra help.
- Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment.
- Promote positive behaviour and encourage active student engagement.
- Support with preparing learning materials and activities.
- Safeguard and supervise children within school, in and out of the classroom
- Work closely with the class teacher to ensure lessons run smoothly
Requirements of the Teaching Assistant:
- Previous experience in a teaching support role or working with children is desirable
- A proactive and patient approach to supporting children’s learning.
- Strong communication skills to engage effectively with students, staff and parents and foster positive relationships
- Passionate about helping children develop confidence and achieve their potential
- Empathetic, compassionate and resilient nature
- Adaptable and quick-thinking, able to respond effectively to diverse classroom situations
- An enhanced DBS registered to the update service, or willingness to apply for one.
