Job Title: SEMH Teacher
Location: Sheffield (S13)
Salary: £150–£250 per day (Depending on Experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Day-to-day / Long-term | Full-time / Part-time

Are you a passionate and resilient teacher with experience supporting students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs?

If so, GSL Education are seeking an enthusiastic SEMH Teacher to join schools across Sheffield.

About the Role:

As an SEMH Teacher, you will deliver engaging and adaptive lessons to students with a range of SEMH needs. You will play a vital role in supporting pupils both academically and emotionally, building their confidence and encouraging them to achieve their full potential. This role involves teaching in small groups, one-to-one sessions, and creating tailored strategies to support positive behaviour and wellbeing.

Responsibilities:

  • Planning and delivering high-quality lessons adapted to SEMH needs.
  • Supporting students with their academic, emotional, and social development.
  • Establishing a safe and inclusive learning environment.
  • Working closely with teaching assistants, pastoral staff, and external agencies.
  • Managing classroom behaviour effectively and implementing tailored strategies.
  • Monitoring student progress and providing regular feedback.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), PGCE, or equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Previous experience teaching students with SEMH needs.
  • Strong behaviour management and communication skills.
  • Ability to adapt teaching to meet a range of learning needs.
  • A caring, patient, and resilient approach to teaching.
  • An enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to apply through GSL Education.
