SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Chichester
Salary: £85 – £95 per day (Depending on Experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Full-time / Part-time

GSL Education are looking for a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join schools in Chichester, supporting pupils in the classroom and helping them to reach their full potential.

As an SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA), you will work closely with teachers and support staff to provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with additional needs. You will play an important role in ensuring all learners can access the curriculum, thrive academically, and develop socially within a supportive learning environment.

SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA) Responsibilities:

  • Provide personalised support to students with SEN in class and during targeted interventions.
  • Assist teachers with the delivery of differentiated learning activities.
  • Promote pupils’ independence, confidence, and engagement in learning.
  • Support behaviour management strategies effectively.
  • Help prepare resources tailored to the needs of individual learners.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and external professionals to support progress.
  • Contribute to creating a safe, nurturing, and inclusive classroom environment.

Skills & Requirements for SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA):

  • CACHE Level 2/3, NVQ Level 2/3 in Childcare/Teaching Assistance, or equivalent qualification (desirable but not essential).
  • Experience working with children, ideally those with SEN.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A patient, caring, and resilient attitude.
  • Understanding of safeguarding and child protection.
  • A valid enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service or willingness to apply through GSL Education.
