SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Shoreham
Salary: £85 – £95 per day (Depending on Experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Full-time / Part-time

GSL Education are looking for a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join schools in Shoreham, providing tailored classroom and one-to-one support to pupils.
As an SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA), you will work closely with teachers and support staff to create a positive, inclusive, and engaging learning environment. You will assist children with additional learning needs, ensuring they have equal access to the curriculum and receive the encouragement they need to thrive both academically and personally.
Responsibilities of SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA):
- Provide one-to-one or small group support to pupils with SEN.
- Assist with classroom activities and differentiated learning.
- Encourage social, emotional, and academic development.
- Implement strategies to manage and support behaviour.
- Work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and specialists.
- Help prepare resources and learning materials to meet individual needs.
- Ensure a safe, supportive, and inclusive classroom environment.
SEN Teaching Assistant Requirements:
- CACHE Level 2/3, NVQ Level 2/3 in Childcare/Teaching Assistance, or relevant qualification (desirable but not essential).
- Experience working with children, ideally those with SEN.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, empathy, and a nurturing approach.
- Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection.
- A valid enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service or willingness to apply through GSL Education.
