SEMH Teaching Assistant
Location: Killamarsh (S21)
Salary: £95 – £120 per day (Depending on Experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Full-time / Part-time

GSL Education are seeking a dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant to join schools in Killamarsh, offering crucial support to pupils who require additional guidance and encouragement.
As a SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will support students in overcoming barriers to learning, helping them build resilience, self-confidence, and positive relationships. This is a rewarding role for someone with patience, empathy, and the ability to provide both academic and emotional support.
Key Responsibilities of a SEMH Teaching Assistant:
- Provide tailored support for pupils with SEMH needs in one-to-one and small group settings.
- Assist the class teacher with lesson delivery and adapt activities to meet individual needs.
- Promote positive behaviour and help pupils develop coping strategies.
- Support students in managing their emotions and building social skills.
- Monitor pupil progress and communicate regularly with teachers, SENCOs, and parents.
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment.
SEMH Teaching Assistant Requirements:
- CACHE Level 2 or 3, NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Childcare/Teaching Assistance, or equivalent qualification.
- Previous experience supporting children with SEMH or behavioural needs is highly desirable.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- A calm, patient, and resilient approach.
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply through GSL Education.
