What Our Teachers Say
We take our responsibilities seriously and as such we hold the DfE Quality Mark, and are a member of the Recruitment and Employment Confederation (REC). This means we follow and maintain vigorous recruitment and vetting procedures that we never deviate from.
Step one: contacting us
If you'd like to speak to one of our consultants first, please call us on 0207 739 2211. Alternatively, you can either email your CV to info@gsleducation.com, or register online We'll then call you to arrange a time for you to come in for an informal interview, and send you a registration pack by email. When you come in for your interview, which should last around 30-45 minutes, please make sure you bring your completed forms and all required documents (listed below). We cannot send you out for work until we've completed the registration process.
Step two: registration pack
Completing the pack makes your face-to-face interview quicker and easier. We'll email it to you before you come in.
Step three: interview and vetting
We'll arrange a convenient time for you to come into our office in Shoreditch for your interview. Our consultants are trained in interview techniques and are required to fill in an interview report sheet with questions covering teaching techniques, classroom and behaviour management/experience, knowledge of the UK National Curriculum, communication skills and extent of knowledge in specialist area/s. We'll also assess attitude, skills and confidence through body language and the candidate's behaviour and responses throughout the interview and registration processes.
have satisfied our requirements. By following these procedures we ensure that all our teachers and other staff are qualified, genuine and, above all, safe to work with children and young people. We require the following documents in their original form - which you'll need to bring with you to interview to be verified, photocopied, signed, dated and kept in your file:
Two strong references which we will verify
Valid, original passport
Official evidence of your right to work in the UK (where applicable) - this could be an EU passport, a work permit, or a valid visa
Original qualification certificates (and NARIC assessment where applicable)
Evidence of professional registration and any QTS qualification
Two utility bills or bank statements, issued to your address within the last 3 months, as proof of address
Original copies of any valid police check documents, although we will also apply for a new criminal records (CRB) check for you
We will also undertake a 'list99' check before sending you out to a school
