The UK offers tremendous opportunities for experienced and effective overseas trained teachers. Some of the essential criteria to be able to work as a teacher in the UK are:

Overseas trained teachers must go through the same registration process as other candidates, and provide us with the same documents, references and information.

If you're interested in moving to the UK to teach please either register with us online or contact us by phone or email. Once you have registered your interest with GSL, a consultant will contact you to guide you through the rest of the process. In some cases we can provide advice and assistance for visas, work permits and accommodation.

From time to time we run recruitment drives in various countries. To date we have travelled to Australia, New Zealand, Canada and India to find good teachers, with great success. Look out for us in local papers and web advertisements.

There are 195 teaching days in an academic year. The year is divided into three terms; Autumn is the first term of the academic year.

There is always a one week holiday in the middle of each term.

You must have at least some experience of teaching and must be fluent in both conversational and written English. You must possess a teaching qualification such as a BEd, MEd, Post Graduate Certificate, or a Graduate Diploma in Education.

You will be entitled to all the service offered free of charge by the National Health Service.
