What Our Teachers Say
Supply teaching in London offers a challenging, rewarding and flexible lifestyle. Supply is perfect for you if you want to gain more experience in a variety of schools before moving to a permanent position, or if you need to support yourself while pursuing other interests or further qualifications. It's an excellent way to get to know schools before applying for a longer term or permanent position; it’s also common for a school to request a teacher they have met and liked on day-to-day supply to come in and do a long-term or permanent position. This can also be useful for overseas trained teachers looking for their first long-term or permanent position within a school.
We work with many schools across London who rely on us to supply high quality teachers on a daily basis. We do our utmost to provide them with a reliable, professional service they can have confidence in, and so we ask the same of our teachers. The majority of our calls come through in the morning from 7am, so we ask that you're ready to set off for your daily assignment to arrive at school, prepared and professionally dressed, by 8.15am.
At your interview we will ask you, among other things, how many days a week you'd like to work; what kind of school you’d prefer to go to (e.g. mixed or all-girls only); what your maximum travel distance is; and whether there is a particular reason for you wanting to do supply (e.g. to explore a variety of schools to see which you fit into best). We will then take all of these things into account when sending you out to schools. At the end of each day we often call teachers to see how their day went, and provide support where necessary.
If you’re interested in undertaking day-to-day supply please either register with us, or call us on 020 7739 2211 for further information.
